Entertainment & Nightlife
Every night is show time with Island Cruises' new look entertainment programme.
Plan your days and nights to perfection with a huge variety of entertainment to
suit all tastes. Each night the Ocean Theatre plays host to the evening’s
main event. Whether it’s the turn of a glamorous West-End style musical show, a
comedian flown specially in from the UK or a cabaret packed with variety, you’re
guaranteed a night to remember. If live music is more your style, our
resident bands and musicians play everything from classical favourites to
popular hits in bars and lounges around our ships. Add in game shows that bring
to live favourite TV programmes past and present, as well as lively deck parties
and you’ll see there’s always something going on. For a completely
different pace, try your luck at the tables and slot machines in the Casino or
join friends for a social pint in the pub or perhaps an exotic cocktail in the
Sailaway Bar where the view is ever-changing. Throughout the day you
are invited to join the specially arranged programme of events from games and
lifestyle activities to demonstrations from the crew, or you can just kick back
and unwind with a book – the choice is yours.
Dining
With no set times for meals and no formal dress code, you can sit down for
breakfast, lunch and dinner as and when you want to and with whom you
like. Whether you’re dining on the Island Star or the Island Escape,
you’ll find plenty of choice to suit all appetites and occasions. Fresh
ingredients from around the Mediterranean, breads straight from the oven, daily
changing menus and dishes designed for all dietary requirements are available 24
hours a day. The Island Restaurant takes you from a ‘Full English’
buffet-style, through to tasty ‘home-cooking’ at lunch time with dishes such as
shepherd’s pies and bangers & mash. In the evenings, variety is key and you
can choose your favourites from a buffet selection of traditional roasts,
pastas, fresh seafood and vegetarian dishes. On those occasions when you
want to dress-up for dinner, try the à la carte Oasis Restaurant. Here
the waiters will spoil you with the chef’s delicious daily specials accompanied
by an extensive wine list to suit all pockets and tastes. Take advantage
of the Mediterranean sunshine with lunch at the Beachcomber – our 24-hour
buffet. A hugely popular choice, you can grab a light snack, crisp salads or a
quick burger, perfect for the kids. Dining in the Beachcomber offers a different
experience each night with daily changing menus and themes. During your cruise
these may include everything from barbecues and oriental feasts through to
Italian pizza and pasta extravaganzas and your Indian curry favourites.
In addition to these three great restaurants, the Island Star has two
further dining options. The al fresco Grill is the perfect place
to grab a hot dog, pizza or some chicken wings. And at the Steak House
you can sit back in the evenings for a juicy steak or simply grilled, fresh
fish, complemented by our starter buffet brimming with colourful salads of every
variety, fresh seafood and a great selection of cold meats.
